this weekend I was gifted a new camera. It's a Nikon P900 a camera that I have been eyeing on since last year, it's a point and shoot but it's the zoom that got me intrigued the thing can go 24-2,000 mm it's amazing for bird pictures i've tried it out and i'm in love :D it will come in use next month when I go out the Mississippi River to get photos of the eagles and gulls at the locks and dams. It won't replace my d7000 that camera has better photo quality that camera will be used for city/urban shots and many other uses that the two lenses I have for will be best for. The p900 on the other hand will now be my main tool for bird and wildlife photo since previously stated it can zoom to 2,000 mm which is astounding for it's price

can't wait to use it for many years to come

next outing

usually I have dates in which I want to go out to take pictures but since it's fall there really ins't anything out birdwise and it's hard to get fall photos in an urban area. My next outing should be in January when the Bald Eagle and Gull sightings are plentiful on the Mississippi River, I'll be Photographing not only gulls and Eagles but photos of the river, Historic buildings of Alton and a really cool Piasa Bird paining on one of the bluffs

this was last Year in the Fall (there is a year round colony of Ring Billed Gulls around Grafton, though I didn't see them the last time I went a few weeks ago)

lack of photos

sorry for the inactivity with this account. It's been way too hot to go out to get pictures, lately the temperatures are reaching 100 F with 110 heat indexes so I would rather not die. The heat is also keeping the birds away so there is no use

hopefully the fall I will be able to get more pictures, of hopefully eastern bluebirds they tend to come early fall, and in the winter I will be able to get photos of hoards of gulls coming doing the Mississippi River which will be fun

New Camera

well sorta new, my friends mom (whos a professional photographer) got it 2 years ago but never used so, so she sold it to me and it's amazing I love. It's the Nikon d700 and it's so so so much better than my old canon rebel xs. I plan to sell my old camera and buy a longer lens for it (most likely a 70-300 it's within my price range) so it's a definite upgrade i'll post some pictures when I get the opportunity to take some

the best part of it, is that it takes video and oh my all the nature videos
